According to the Official Bulletin of Industrial Property of Balears Province, last June 10th, the company OLTEN ENTREPRISE SL, based in Palma de Mallorca, requested to register the cigarette brand “Estalada”. On October 15th later that year, the requested was granted and approved, and on February 15th 2014 BOE fixed the public selling price for the tobacco brand “Estelada” at 3,95 euros (4,05 euros if sold through a vending machine).

A few weeks have passed since these cigarettes have reached all smoke shops in the Spain, with the name “Estelada” written over a blue background (there is also on the pack the image of the four bars with a white star, also symbol of the Catalan independence process). The only other information found on the pack is about the three harmful elements contained (in mg) in addition to the official message about the dangers of smoking.
